Ballet and Modern DanceShireen Dreyer teaches various classes for adults from Seven Star Energy Centre. Adult classes are on a Wednesday
evening, commencing from Adult Beginners Level 1 caters for individuals with no previous dance experience. The weekly class runs over 8 weeks and will bring you on par with approx 5/6 years of dance vocabulary. The equivalent of Grade 3 RAD Ballet. Beginner classes are based on a weekly lesson. The total cost for the 8 weeks is R800. This course has a deposit of 50%, with the balance being billed after the first 4 weeks. This billing applies to the Adult Beginner 2 and Adult bridge classes as well. A free introductory class is held a week prior to the commencement of the course for the Adult Beginners Level 1 only. Adult Beginners Level 2 caters for individuals whom danced as children and remember the basics. The class also runs over 8 weeks and will refresh or embed the fundamentals whilst imparting new terminology. These lessons will bring you on par with a Grade 5/6 level of RAD Dancing, the equivalent of 7/8 years of dancing. Adult Bridge class caters for those whom did the Higher Grades in RAD ballet but need to transition to the Vocational side of ballet i.e. pointe work. This runs over 8 weeks also, but each individual is closely monitored to assess their personal growth. This level could be repeated until both you and I are satisfied with your ability. This level brings you on par with a Grade 7/8/ Intermediate Foundation Level/ Preliminary Adult Level 2 - Intermediate. Syllabus class, offering all the terminology for dancers. Pointe work is included, so you must have danced to an Intermediate foundation/Pre Elementary level previously. Adult Level 3 - Advanced. Non and syllabus class. Must have done the intermediate examination with the RAD (or other Dance Org). If not, assessment into the class is required. This is high level of dancing, with the most complicated of the dance vocabulary learnt and executed in this class. Costs range on duration and frequency of dancing. The Intermediate and Advanced level is danced over a year or more. The billing is monthly in advance and dependent on the frequency of classes.
